Vegan Sushi Wrap
Ingredients
- 4 nori sheets (good iodine source)
- 3 to 4 cups of cooked sushi rice
- 1 ripe avocado, sliced
- 200g baked tofu spiced as you like
- soy sauce as a dip
- half a cucumber, sliced
- some sesame seeds sprinkled on top (optional)
- salt to taste
Preparation
First, you need to cook the sushi rice appropriately
Spice the tofu as you like and let it bake in the oven at 170C° until it's a bit crispy and done
Place the nori sheet on a non sticky surface with the shiny side down and rotated at 45°
Wet your hands and grab a handful of rice
Place it in the middle of the sheet and using your hands form it into a compacted square
Try to make that layer as even and compacted as possible
Season with salt to your taste if it isn't already seasoned with salt
Place remaining ingredients on top like the avocado slices, cucumber and tofu
Next, cover all the ingredients with another layer of the rice
Once you are done with your rice stack, seal all four corners of the nori sheet on top of the filling
Fold the right corner over the stack, wet the end of the nori sheet with a wet finger and fold the left corner over the stack and stick it to the right corner
Repeat the same thing with bottom and top corners until you get a small packet
Put something moderately heavy on the sushi wrap and set it aside to let the seaweed soften a little
After that just cut it in half with a sharp knife and sprinkle some sesame seeds on top while dipping it in soy sauce! Give it a try
