Sweet and Spicy Beetroot Apple Chutney
Ingredients
- 2 Apples - grated
- 1 raw beetroot - grated
- 1cm chunk ginger grated
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 stick of cinnamon
- 4 cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
Preparation
Temper the oil, cloves, cumin seeds, and cinnamon in a saucepan for a minute.
Add all the other ingredients and cook on high heat to melt the sugar for about 5 minutes until the sugar melts.
Spoon into a clean jar and store in the fridge.
Serving ideas
Eat with Thepla, paratha, or as an accompaniment to any curry.
Use to spice up cheese and pickle sandwiches.
