Easy Vegan Cheese Sauce
Ingredients
- 1 large potato
- 1 large carrot
- 2 cups unsweetened non-dairy milk
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup nutritional yeast flakes
Preparation
Boil the potato and carrot until soft.
Chop into small chunks.
Add all the ingredients into a high-speed blender and blend until smooth.
Tips
This vegan cheese sauce is delicious and can be used as a side sauce for dipping, poured over baked tofu or tempeh, or in pasta or lasagne.
Reducing the amount of non-dairy milk will make the sauce thicker and better for using on vegan pizzas or nachos.
The sauce contains only good and nourishing ingredients with no preservatives, less sugar and saturated/trans fat, less sodium, not as processed, gluten-free, and low-carb.
