Vegan Cheese Sauce

Ingredients

  • juice of 1/4 of a lemon
  • 3 tbsp of nutritional yeast(adds the cheesy flavour)
  • 1 tbsp of tapioca starch
  • 1/2 tsp of garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp of salt or to taste
  • 1/2 tsp of turmeric
  • pinch of black pepper

Preparation

  1. Combine together everything except of milk and whisk to combine

  2. Slowly pour little bit of milk over so it forms a smooth runny sauce

  3. Heat the rest of the milk in the saucepan and whisking constantly pour the spice mixture that we created earlier

  4. Continue storing together till it starts to bubble and the sauce has thickened(about 2-3 minutes)

  5. Squeeze the lemon wedge over, stir to combine

  6. Taste and adjust seasonings if needed

  7. Note for instant cashew milk you can blend 30 grams of cashews and 170 grams of water till smooth(if your blended is not strong enough boil cashews for 10 minutes for the best results)
