Sticky Tofu with Rice

Ingredients

  • 4 tbsp corn starch
  • 2 tbsp tamari sauce
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • for the sauce:
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • 2 gloves garlic, chopped
  • 2 tsp corn starch
  • 1 tbsp tamari sauce
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 tbsp agave syrup from
  • 1 tsp siracha sauce
  • for the topping:
  • spring onion
  • lime
  • sesame

Preparation

  1. Cut the tofu in big chunks and dry them as much as possible

  2. In a bowl mix tofu chunks with the tofu ingredients until fully covered

  3. Fry tofu for some minutes in some olive oil and turn around to fry each side

  4. For the sauce mix the corn start with 120 ml of water and set aside

  5. In a pan fry the ginger and garlic shortly

  6. Add all the other ingredients including the corn starch-water and cook on low temperature until thickened

  7. Carefully cover the tofu with the sauce

  8. Eat it with rice and top it up with some greens and seeds
