Crispy Oven-Baked Sesame Glazed Cauliflower
Ingredients
- 1 head cauliflower
- 1 cup brown rice flour
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon nutritional yeast
- 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup almond milk
Sesame sauce
- 1/2 cup coconut aminos
- 1/4 cup sweetener or coconut sugar
- 1/4 cup sesame oil
- 1/4 cup rice vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper
- 3 garlic cloves
- 1 tablespoon ginger
- 1 teaspoon Sriracha
- 1-2 teaspoons arrowroot powder
- 1/4 cup water
Garnish
- Sesame seeds
- Green onion
- Cilantro
- Fresno pepper
Preparation
Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper
Cut cauliflower into florets and set aside
Combine the six dry ingredients in a large bowl and stir in the almond milk, adjusting consistency with additional flour or milk if needed to achieve a thick but not clumpy batter
Coat the cauliflower florets in the batter and place them on the baking sheet, allowing excess batter to drip off
Bake for 20 minutes
In a saucepan, combine the first eight sauce ingredients and bring to a simmer, then mix arrowroot powder with water in a separate bowl, add to the sauce to thicken, and reduce heat to low
Remove cauliflower from oven, transfer to a large bowl, coat with half of the sauce, return to baking sheet, and bake for an additional 15 minutes
Remove from oven and toss with the remaining sauce
Top with garnishes and serve with steamed rice and broccoli
