  • 1 1/2 cups unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 cup brown rice flour or all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground pepper

Sesame sticky sauce

  • 1 teaspoon avocado oil
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 2 tablespoons organic brown sugar or coconut sugar
  • 2 teaspoons rice vinegar
  • 1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons Tamari or soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup organic ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds

Garnishes

  • Sliced green onions
  • White or brown rice

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Mix the dry ingredients for the batter together, then add almond milk and stir until well combined and thick but pourable.

  3. Once the oven is preheated, coat each cauliflower floret in the batter, shake off excess, and place on the baking sheet with space between them, then bake for 30 minutes.

  4. In a bowl, combine all sauce ingredients except garlic and avocado oil and mix to combine.

  5. Heat avocado oil in a large pan over medium heat, add minced garlic, and cook for 30 seconds.

  6. Add the sauce mixture to the pan, bring to a simmer, and cook for 3-4 minutes or until just thickened.

  7. Add the baked cauliflower wings to the pan and toss to coat with the sauce.

  8. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions, then serve with rice.

Tips

  1. This sauce is versatile and can be used with other dishes like veggie stir-fries, eggplant, mushrooms, or noodles.
