Homemade Veggie Potstickers for Chinese New Year
Ingredients
Dumpling wrappers
- 240g [~2 cups] all-purpose flour
- 125ml [~1/2 cup] hot water
Filling
- 16oz firm tofu, pressed
- 4 cups [125g] fresh spinach
- 3/4 cup [75g] cabbage, shredded
- 1 small carrot, finely chopped
- a handful of chopped scallions
- 2 teaspoons toasted sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- a few shakes of white pepper
Preparation
Mix flour and hot water to form a dough, knead until smooth, and let rest for at least 30 minutes.
In a bowl, combine tofu, spinach, cabbage, carrot, scallions, sesame oil, salt, and white pepper to make the filling.
Roll out the dough and cut into small circles to form wrappers.
Fill each wrapper with the vegetable mixture, fold and seal the edges securely.
Cook the potstickers in a lightly oiled skillet over medium heat until the bottoms are golden brown, then add a small amount of water, cover, and steam until fully cooked.
Tips
Weigh ingredients for accurate proportions to ensure the dough handles properly.
