Vegan Pizza with Bbq Tofu
Ingredients
Pizza dough
- 300g self-rising bread flour
- 1/2 cup warm water
Bbq tofu
- Turmeric to taste
- Vegan BBQ sauce to taste
- Salt to taste
- Paprika powder to taste
- Chili powder to taste
Toppings
- 1/4 yellow onion
- 1/4 red onion
- 1 or 2 garlic cloves
- 100g-150g thinly sliced mushrooms
- 1 can Italian tomato sauce with herbs
- Vegan grated cheese to taste
- 50g sweet corn
- Half a zucchini, thinly sliced
- Dried oregano for sprinkling
Preparation
Make the pizza dough by adding warm water to the self-rising flour and mixing with a hand mixer until dough-like consistency is achieved, then cover and let rise for about an hour.
Prepare the tofu by slicing it thinly, seasoning with turmeric, vegan BBQ sauce, salt, paprika powder, and chili powder to taste, and stir frying in a pan with a little oil.
Sauté the garlic and onions until softened, then mix with the tomato sauce.
After the dough has risen, shape it into a square or circle.
Spread the tomato sauce mixture over the dough.
Add the prepared tofu on top.
Sprinkle vegan cheese over the pizza until mostly covered.
Add sliced onions, mushrooms, zucchini, and sweet corn evenly over the pizza.
Bake in the oven at 180°C for 20-25 minutes or until done.
Sprinkle dried oregano over the pizza after baking.
Tips
Use a brand of vegan cheese that melts well for best results.
Adjust spices and toppings based on personal preference for flavor.
