Grilled Tofu in Spicy Makhani Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 packet extra firm tofu, cut into large cubes and grilled
  • 1 can coconut milk
  • 1/2 cup minced coriander leaves
  • 1 minced onion
  • 2 crushed garlic cloves
  • 1 teaspoon minced ginger

Sauce

  • 2.5 cups water
  • 0.5 cup raw cashews, soaked overnight or boiled
  • 0.5 cup tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon chili or cayenne powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • salt to taste
  • 0.5 teaspoon powdered ginger

Preparation

  1. Mix all the sauce ingredients in a blender

  2. Heat the oil in a pan and sauté the onions

  3. Add garlic and ginger and mix until fragrant

  4. Add the sauce and cook over high heat

  5. Add the tofu and reduce the heat

  6. Cook for 10 minutes with stirring

  7. Turn off the heat and sprinkle with parsley and serve

  8. To save time, you can use ready-made makhani sauce
