Spicy Cashew Tofu Stir Fry Dish
Ingredients
- 1 pack firm tofu
- 1 medium onion
- 3 cloves garlic
- 5-6 dried chili
- 1/2 cup green bell pepper
- 1/4 cup scallions
- 1/2 cup cashews
- oil
- salt to taste
Sauce
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 2 teaspoons dark soy sauce
- 2 teaspoons stir fry sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- pinch of white pepper
Preparation
Drain and cube the tofu, then shallow fry until golden brown or use store-bought fried tofu cubes.
Boil dried chili in hot water until soft.
Slice the onion and garlic.
In a heated non-stick pan with 2 teaspoons oil, saute onion until soft.
Add garlic and continue to stir until garlic turns lightly brown.
Add bell pepper, prepared tofu, chili, and sauce. Coat them well and season with salt if needed.
Mix 1 tablespoon cornstarch with 3 tablespoons water until well combined, set aside, and stir again before use, then stir it in.
Turn off heat and serve warm with your favorite grain and veggies.
