Classic Snickerdoodle Cookies with Cinnamon

Ingredients

  • 3 cups of flour
  • 2 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 & 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter room temp
  • 1 egg room temp
  • 2 tsp vanilla

Topping

  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 2 tsp cinnamon

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 375.

  2. Combine sugar and cinnamon to make topping.

  3. Whisk together flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt in a medium bowl.

  4. In a separate bowl, beat butter and sugar together for two minutes or until creamy.

  5. Beat in egg and vanilla.

  6. Add dry mixture in three increments.

  7. Roll dough into 1.5-inch balls and roll in bowl of topping.

  8. Place on lined baking sheet and press cookies down with a fork.

  9. Bake for 10 minutes.

  10. Sprinkle more topping or press down with fork if desired.
