Tofu and Bok Choy Potstickers

Ingredients

  • 1/2 block firm tofu
  • 8 caps Chinese mushrooms
  • 2 tsp black bean sauce (substitute with 2 tsp soy sauce + 1/2 tsp maple syrup)
  • 1 lb bok choy
  • 1 package dumpling wrapper
  • sesame oil
  • salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

  1. Mix the tofu, mushrooms, black bean sauce, bok choy, sesame oil, salt, and pepper together to make the filling

  2. Place a spoonful of filling in the center of each dumpling wrapper and fold to seal, pleating the edges

  3. Heat sesame oil in a non-stick pan over medium heat, add the potstickers in a single layer, and fry until the bottoms are golden brown

  4. Add a small amount of water to the pan, cover with a lid, and steam for about 5-7 minutes until the wrappers are cooked and the filling is heated through
