Pan-Fried Tomatoes with Oregano
Ingredients
- 5 ramato tomatoes
- 1 garlic clove
- 1 sprig dried oregano
- 1 sprig fresh oregano
- Extra virgin olive oil
- Salt
- Pepper
Preparation
Begin by cutting the ramato tomatoes in half.
In a pot, with two tablespoons of oil and one garlic clove, arrange the tomatoes cut side down.
Cook them until they soften and are well browned, then turn them over and cook on the other side.
Sprinkle with plenty of oregano.
If necessary, add two tablespoons of warm water, salt, and continue cooking covered.
The tomatoes are ready when fully cooked and soft.
Toast bread to accompany them.
Tips
Use both fresh and dried oregano for enhanced flavor.
You can add other herbs like thyme for extra taste.
Ideal served with toasted bread for a quick snack.
