Bulgar Wheat

Ingredients

  • Forgot that I even had bulgar wheat at home. A cheap grain that cooks up super fast with just the use of boiling water. I made it using 2/3 cup bulgar wheat in a glass container then poured 1 cup boiling water over it. Just seal and let stand until all water is fully absorbed. Takes a few minutes, but once it’s done you just fluff with a fork and you’re done. Kind of tasted like a combination of quinoa and rice. Super simple
  • Paired this lovely whole grain with a quick stir fry of chickpeas, broccoli, carrots, and purple cabbage tossed with minced garlic, powdered ginger, soy sauce and a little maple syrup. Tossed this with all the veggies and chickpeas to give it all the right flavors I was looking for. Also included some avocado and sauerkraut on the side for a little dose of probiotic goodness
