Homemade Wholesome Baked Beans Alternative

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 28 oz crushed tomatoes canned
  • 28 oz cannellini beans canned
  • 1 tbsp coconut sugar or molasses
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce gluten-free variety if needed
  • 1 tbsp dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1 sprig rosemary leaves removed and chopped
  • salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

  1. Sauté the garlic and onion in olive oil until the onion is soft.

  2. Add the remaining ingredients and bring to a simmer.

  3. Cook for 45 to 60 minutes to allow flavors to fully marinate.
