Japanese Chicken and Vegetable Gyoza

Ingredients

Dough

  • 250g flour
  • 130mL warm water
  • a pinch of salt

Filling

  • 1 onion
  • 1 carrot
  • 2cm ginger
  • 1 clove garlic
  • salt and pepper
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 250g ground chicken

Preparation

  1. Mix the flour, water, and salt to form a smooth dough; knead well and let it rest for 30 minutes.

  2. Prepare the filling by finely chopping the onion, carrot, ginger, and garlic; combine with ground chicken, soy sauce, salt, and pepper, mixing thoroughly.

  3. Roll out the dough thinly and cut into small circles using a cutter or glass.

  4. Place a spoonful of filling in the center of each dough circle, fold and seal the edges to form gyoza shapes.

  5. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat, cook gyoza until golden brown on the bottom, then add a little water, cover, and steam until cooked through.
