Korean Chive Pancakes

Ingredients

  • 100g garlic chives
  • 1/2 medium onion
  • 1 1/4 cups plain all purpose flour
  • 1 packed tbsp cornstarch
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1 1/4 cups ice cold water
  • Oil, for frying

Preparation

  1. Wash and dry your garlic chives well then slice into 2-3 inch long pieces. Cut the onion into thin slices.

  2. In a medium bowl, add in the flour, cornstarch and salt. Whisk well and pour in the ice water until a smooth batter forms. Fold in the chives and onion till well combined.

  3. Heat some oil in a pan over medium heat then add 1 cup of your batter in and spread into a thin layer to fill the pan. Cook until golden on both sides.

  4. Serve with a soy-based dipping sauce.

  1. This recipe makes 2 pancakes.
