Minute Steak and Cheese Sandwich

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 medium white onion, halved then sliced
  • 2 beef frying steaks (or however many you need to feed)
  • sourdough bread, sliced
  • wholegrain mustard
  • cornichons, thinly sliced
  • gruyère cheese, sliced
  • rocket, optional

Preparation

  1. Heat oil in a large frying pan over medium to high heat and cook the onion for several mins until golden and soft. Set to one side

  2. Cook the steaks to your liking

  3. Spread mustard on a slice of sourdough, add the cornichons, cheese, fried onions, rocket and steaks. Top with another slice of sourdough then toast in a George Forman or under a grill until browned and the cheese is melting. Enjoy
