Vegan Air-Fried Crispy Orange Cauliflower

Ingredients

  • 10-15 cauliflower florets
  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour (maida)
  • salt & pepper to taste
  • water as required

Sauce

  • 3/4 cup orange juice (blood orange used)
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp red chili flakes
  • 1/2 tsp ginger garlic finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp vinegar
  • 1.5 tbsp red chili paste
  • 1/2 tbsp roasted sesame seeds
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup (honey or sugar can also be used)
  • 1 tbsp coriander stems or green onions finely chopped

Preparation

  1. Prepare a batter by mixing flour, salt, pepper, and water until smooth

  2. Coat the cauliflower florets evenly in the batter

  3. Air fry the coated cauliflower until crispy and golden brown

  4. In a separate pan, combine orange juice, soy sauce, red chili flakes, ginger garlic, vinegar, red chili paste, and maple syrup, then heat until the sauce thickens

  5. Toss the air-fried cauliflower in the sauce until well coated

  6. Garnish with roasted sesame seeds and chopped coriander stems or green onions before serving
