Plant-Based Savory Puff Pastry with Vegan Cream Cheese and Spinach Filling
Ingredients
- 1 cup vegan cream cheese (store bought or made from scratch will do)
- 1 pack of frozen organic spinach (defrosted and water squeezed out)
- 1 puff pastry sheet (check for animal products before buying)
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- garlic, onion, and paprika powder
- Pinch of ground basil, parsley, and oregano - Nutritional yeast, salt, and pepper to taste
- - Marinara sauce for dipping
Preparation
Roll out puff pastry to spread out
On a mixing bowl, combine spinach, cream cheese, and spices
Apply an even layer of spinach mixture on the puff pastry sheet
Roll puff pastry tightly and cut into slices with a sharp knife or floss
Place on baking tray and space apart evenly
Bake according to package instructions
Usually 15-20 minutes or until pastry is golden brown
Serve with marinara sauce to dip
