Plant-Based Savory Puff Pastry with Vegan Cream Cheese and Spinach Filling

Ingredients

  • 1 cup vegan cream cheese (store bought or made from scratch will do)
  • 1 pack of frozen organic spinach (defrosted and water squeezed out)
  • 1 puff pastry sheet (check for animal products before buying)
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • garlic, onion, and paprika powder
  • Pinch of ground basil, parsley, and oregano - Nutritional yeast, salt, and pepper to taste
  • - Marinara sauce for dipping

Preparation

  1. Roll out puff pastry to spread out

  2. On a mixing bowl, combine spinach, cream cheese, and spices

  3. Apply an even layer of spinach mixture on the puff pastry sheet

  4. Roll puff pastry tightly and cut into slices with a sharp knife or floss

  5. Place on baking tray and space apart evenly

  6. Bake according to package instructions

  7. Usually 15-20 minutes or until pastry is golden brown

  8. Serve with marinara sauce to dip
