Homemade Crispy Chicken Wings Two Ways
Ingredients
For cajun wings
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 2 lbs chicken wings
- 2 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp cayenne
- 1/2 tsp thyme
For hot honey wings
- 2 lbs chicken wings
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/3 cup Frank's Red Hot
- 2 tbsp butter
Preparation
For cajun rub
Preheat oven to 425.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil and place a wire rack on top.
Spray the rack with cooking oil.
Pat dry the chicken wings well.
Add wings to a large bowl, top with baking powder and all spices, and toss well.
Arrange wings on the wire rack.
Bake for 25 minutes, then flip, and bake for another 25 minutes.
Serve with carrots, celery and a side of buffalo sauce.
For hot honey
Preheat oven to 425.
Pat dry wings really well with paper towel.
Place wings in a large bowl and toss with baking powder, salt and pepper.
Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or foil and place a wire rack on top. Spray with cooking spray and rub well.
Arrange wings on top and bake for 40 minutes, flipping halfway through.
While wings are baking, add honey, hot sauce and butter to a small saucepan and bring to a simmer. After a few minutes, remove from heat.
Remove wings from the oven, brush with sauce, and place back in the oven to broil for 5 minutes.
Serve with extra sauce drizzled on top.
