Strawberry Shortcake Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup slivered almonds
  • 1/4 cup gluten-free rolled oats
  • 2 tablespoons hemp seeds (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon ground flaxseed (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup frozen strawberries
  • 1/2 cup frozen riced cauliflower
  • 1 1/2 cups vanilla unsweetened almond milk (or milk of choice)
  • 1-2 cups ice cubes

Preparation

  1. In a high speed blender, add all the ingredients except ice

  2. Blend until smooth and creamy

  3. Add 1 cup of ice and blend again until no ice chunks remain

  4. For a frostier smoothie, add another cup of ice and blend again

  5. Pour into one or two glasses depending on if this is a meal replacement or a filling snack

  6. Serve immediately

  7. Garnish with fresh strawberries if desired

  8. In this smoothie i used seal the seaons' locally-sourced north carolina frozen strawberries
