Apple Cinnamon Plant-Based Tart

Ingredients

  • Splash of plant-based cream
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • Powdered sugar

For the crust

  • 140g flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 65g plant-based butter
  • Splash of water

For the filling

  • 3 apples
  • 6 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla powder
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp plant-based butter
  • Pinch of salt

Preparation

  1. Line a cake tin with parchment paper.

  2. Combine flour, salt, and sugar for the crust. Add the plant-based butter and mix well.

  3. Sprinkle some water over the mixture and mix until smooth.

  4. Add the crust mixture to your cake tin and press it evenly. Place in the fridge.

  5. Peel and cut the apples into slices, then place them in a bowl.

  6. Add sugar, vanilla powder, cinnamon, melted plant-based butter, and a pinch of salt to the apples. Mix well to combine.

  7. Arrange the apple slices on top of the crust in overlapping concentric circles.

  8. Fold the edges of the crust over the apples. Brush the crust with plant-based cream.

  9. Sprinkle 1 tbsp sugar over the top crust.

  10. Chill the assembled tart in the fridge for 15 minutes.

  11. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit).

  12. Bake the tart for 40-50 minutes or until the crust is golden. Allow it to cool down.

  13. Sprinkle the tart with powdered sugar before serving.
