Bbq Jackfruit

Ingredients

  • 2 20 oz. cans JACKFRUIT
  • -1 ONION (diced) -1 cup BBQ SAUCE -1/2 tsp LIQUID SMOKE
  • -3 cloves GARLIC -1/2 tsp GARLIC POWDER
  • -1/2 tsp ONION POWDER -1 tsp SMOKED PAPRIKA -SALT & PEPPER to taste -6 WHOLE WHEAT BUNS -OPTIONAL: lettuce, coleslaw, avocado, grilled pineapple, etc

Preparation

  1. Drain and rinse jackfruit

  2. Heat a little water over medium heat and cook onion for 5-7 min

  3. Add garlic and cook for 1 more min

  4. Add jackfruit, bbq sauce, 1/2 cup water

  5. Stir & cover on medium-low heat for 15 min, and then stir again

  6. Add water if needed and cook for 15 more min

  7. Shred jackfruit with fork until it resembles pulled pork

  8. Add garlic & onion powder, smoked paprika, liquid smoke, salt and pepper and stir

  9. Add more bbq sauce if desired

  10. Make sandwiches and enjoy!
