One-Pan Mediterranean Bolognese

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground lamb (or ground beef)
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 2 cups of your choice pasta (@eatbanza elbows shown here)
  • grated parm for serving

Preparation

  1. Drizzle a large skillet with olive oil and heat over medium-high heat

  2. Add the lamb and cook, breaking up the meat into small pieces, until browned & cooked through, about 9 minutes

  3. Drain some of the fat if needed

  4. Stir in the salt, garlic powder & cumin; cook 1 minute

  5. Stir in the tomato sauce

  6. Fill the can with water and add to the skillet; add another 1 to 2 cans full of water to fill the skillet about 3/4 way and bring to a simmer

  7. Stir in the pasta and cook, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is tender and most of the liquid has been absorbed. You can add more water, if needed, as the pasta cooks. Cook-time will depend on the pasta you have on hand but figure it'll take a little longer than the label directs or about 15 minutes

  8. Serve in a bowl with some grated parm
