Maple Pecan Crusted Salmon with Chipotle Kick
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup pecans
- 3 tbsp maple syrup
- 1/2 tsp Chipotle spice (optional)
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- Sprinkle of salt
- About 1-1.25 pounds of salmon (one large fillet, about 3 slices)
- 1 tbsp maple syrup (for brushing)
Preparation
Prepare the Maple Pecan Mixture: In a food processor, combine pecans, 3 tbsp maple syrup, Chipotle spice, garlic powder, and a sprinkle of salt. Chop the ingredients together until the pecans are finely chopped.
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
Prepare the Salmon: Place the salmon fillet in a greased baking pan.
Brush the salmon with 1 tbsp of maple syrup.
Coat the salmon with the prepared Maple Pecan Mixture. Use a knife to evenly spread the mixture over the salmon.
Bake: Bake the salmon in the preheated oven for 14-16 minutes, depending on the thickness of the fillet. The crust should be golden and the salmon should flake easily when tested with a fork.
Enjoy: Once cooked, remove the salmon from the oven and let it rest for a moment before serving.
