Spicy Korean Tofu with Marinade and Sauce
Ingredients
- 2 blocks pressed tofu
- 3 tablespoons corn flour
- 3 tablespoons panko
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Sesame oil for shallow frying or baking
Marinade
- 2 tablespoons gochujang paste
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce or tamari
- 1 tablespoon sriracha
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil
Sauce
- 2 tablespoons gochujang paste
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce or tamari
- 1 tablespoon sriracha
- 1/2 tablespoon xylitol or sugar
- 1/2 cup water
Preparation
Cut pressed tofu into cubes and marinate overnight in the marinade ingredients.
Mix corn flour, salt, and panko in a bowl. Coat each tofu piece and fry in sesame oil until crispy, or bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 20-30 minutes.
Combine all sauce ingredients. Heat sesame oil in a pan, add the sauce mixture, cook until it simmers and thickens, then add the crispy tofu and stir to coat.
