Sticky Sesame Cauliflower with Vegan Batter
Ingredients
- 1 cup dried tvp
- 1 cup flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 2 cups @theoatyeah
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 large head cauliflower, cut into florets
Sauce
- 2 Tbl sesame oil
- 2 Tbl minced @the_ginger_people
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 4 Tbl tomato paste
- 1 Tbl rice vinegar
- 1 cup water
- 1 1/2 Tbl corn starch
Preparation
Preheat oven to 450 F. Line two baking sheets with parchment.
Add dried tvp to food processor or blender and process until floured.
Mix tvp with water and let sit for 10 minutes.
Dunk cauliflower florets into batter and place on parchment.
Bake for 15 minutes.
Flip the cauliflower and bake for another 15 minutes. Optionally spray with oil.
In a sauce pot, mix and heat the sesame oil, minced ginger, garlic powder, maple syrup, soy sauce, tomato paste, rice vinegar, water, and corn starch until bubbling and thick.
Pour sauce over baked cauliflower and mix to cover.
Bake for 7 more minutes.
Top with sesame seeds and serve.
