The Best Vegan Burger

Ingredients

  • 1 medium onion
  • 3 tbsp flaxseeds + 3 tbsp hot water
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 2/3 cup soy mince (dry)
  • 1/2 cup broth
  • 50g oat flour or oats
  • 1 can kidney beans
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste

Spices

  • 1 tbsp cumin
  • 1 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper

Other

  • 1-2 tbsp olive oil to cook

Preparation

  1. Sauté onion and garlic in a little bit of olive oil.

  2. Soak ground flaxseeds with 3 tablespoons of hot water and dry soy mince with half a cup of hot broth.

  3. Add all ingredients to a blender and pulse without puréeing.

  4. Form the mixture into 4 to 5 burger patties and set them on a plate.

  5. Heat a skillet and cook the patties with a bit of olive oil for 5 minutes per side. For an oil-free alternative, bake in the oven at 180°C until crispy.
