Nutty Plum Brownies


  • 175g all purpose flour
  • 100g basil nuts
  • 25g cacao powder
  • 75g dried plums ( cut into smaller pieces )
  • 75g panela sugar ( unrefined whole cane sugar )
  • 25g raisins
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 3-4 drops vanilla essence
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon powder
  • 175ml soy milk
  • 125ml sunflower oil
  • zest & juice from 1/2 orange. Make it like so


  1. Preheat the oven at 180C

  2. Chop the nuts, and the plums into smaller pieces

  3. Mix the flour, cacao, sugar, cinnamon, and baking powder

  4. Add the soy milk, the sunflower oil, the orange zest & juice, and the vanilla

  5. Stir until well combined

  6. Fold in the nuts, raisins, and plums

  7. Pour the mixture in a pre-greased cake pan, and bake for 35-40 minutes in the preheated oven

  8. Set aside to cool, and top off with melted chocolate before serving
