Tofu Nugget Delight 🌿🫕

Ingredients

  • 1 block of tofu (pressed to remove excess water)
  • 1/2 cup of breadcrumbs
  • For the marinade: 2 tbsp mustard, 2 tbsp nutritional yeast, 1/2 cup plant-based milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder.

Preparation

  1. Prepare the marinade by whisking together mustard, nutritional yeast, plant-based milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Set aside.

  2. Place the breadcrumbs in a shallow dish.

  3. Cut the tofu into squares or rectangles and dip each piece into the marinade using a fork. Use a separate fork to dip the marinated tofu into the breadcrumbs to avoid clumping.

Coat all the tofu pieces in breadcrumbs and choose one of two cooking options

  1. Heat oil in a pan and fry the tofu until golden and crisp. You can use olive oil or coconut oil.

  2. Alternatively, bake the tofu in the oven at 180°C (350°F) for 30 minutes, flipping the tofu pieces halfway through to ensure even browning.

  1. For the dip, you can use tomato sauce or use the same marinade as a dip.

  2. Serve the crispy tofu nuggets with your chosen dip and enjoy!
