Vegan Buttermilk and Sorghum Flapjacks
Ingredients
- 1,5 cups sorghum flour
- 1,5 cups plant based milk (i like to use almond or organic soy for this recipe)
- 2 tbsp raw cacao powder
- 2 tbsp coconut oil, melted (@crede_natural_oils)
- 2 tbsp coconut sugar or pure maple syrup
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- pinch of salt .
Preparation
Combine dry ingredients together
To make the vegan buttermilk (combine the plant based milk and apple cider vinegar together, mix + it will curdle)
Add the coconut oil to the mixture and then the buttermilk
Combine well and then ladle onto a non stick pan and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side
Tahini, maple & vanilla sauce:
Tbsp tahini (@ohmega_nutbutters is my fav)
Tbsp pure maple syrup
Tsp vanilla extract
Tbsp filtered water (optional)
Mix together the tahini, maple and vanilla
It will become a thick caramel consistency (you can use it just like that or thin it out with water for a pouring sauce)
I topped these with banana slices and toasted salted caramel coconut flakes ??
