Slow Cooked Pork Ribs with Homemade BBQ Sauce

Ingredients

  • pork ribs
  • 1/4 carton passata
  • tomato purée
  • 3-4 tbsp HP honey bbq sauce
  • a few dashes Worcester sauce
  • Franks red hot sauce
  • balsamic vinegar
  • white wine vinegar
  • 1 tbsp chopped garlic
  • half tbsp ginger paste
  • 1 tsp chipotle paste
  • 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • a little water
  • salt and pepper

Preparation

  1. Prepare the sauce by combining 1/4 carton of passata, tomato purée, 3-4 tablespoons of HP honey BBQ sauce, a few dashes of Worcester sauce, Franks Red Hot sauce, balsamic vinegar, white wine vinegar, 1 tablespoon of chopped garlic, half tablespoon of ginger paste, 1 teaspoon of chipotle paste, 1 tablespoon of Cajun seasoning, a little water, salt, and pepper.

  2. Place the pork ribs and the prepared sauce in the slow cooker.

  3. Cook on high for approximately 6 hours.

  4. After cooking, thicken the sauce on the stovetop.

  5. Return the thickened sauce to the ribs and bake in the oven for about 15 minutes.

  6. Serve with chips, salad, garnished with parsley and a lemon wedge.
