Easy Gingerbread Cookies for Holiday Baking

Ingredients

  • 350g plain flour, plus extra for kneading and rolling out
  • 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
  • 2 tsp ground ginger
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 125g butter
  • 175g brown sugar
  • 4 tbsp golden syrup

Preparation

  1. Melt butter, sugar and golden syrup, set aside to cool.

  2. Mix the dry ingredients.

  3. Mix the wet into the dry mix and then knead well. We added more flour to get a less sticky dough.

  4. Roll out with more flour and cut with Christmas cutters. Spread them out on a greased, lined tray as they do spread out.

  5. Bake at 190C fan for 10 mins.
