Gingerbread Fun
Ingredients
- 350g plain flour, plus extra for kneading and rolling out
- 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
- 2 tsp ground ginger
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 125g butter
- 175g brown sugar
- 4 tbsp golden syrup
Preparation
Melt butter, sugar, and golden syrup, then set aside to cool.
Mix the dry ingredients in a bowl.
Mix the wet ingredients (butter, sugar, golden syrup mixture) into the dry mix, and then knead well. Add more flour if needed to achieve a less sticky dough.
Roll out the dough with additional flour and cut out shapes using Christmas cutters.
Place the cut shapes on a greased and lined baking tray, ensuring they are spaced out as they will spread during baking.
Bake at 190°C fan for 10 minutes.
