Gingerbread Fun

Ingredients

  • 350g plain flour, plus extra for kneading and rolling out
  • 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
  • 2 tsp ground ginger
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 125g butter
  • 175g brown sugar
  • 4 tbsp golden syrup

Preparation

  1. Melt butter, sugar, and golden syrup, then set aside to cool.

  2. Mix the dry ingredients in a bowl.

  3. Mix the wet ingredients (butter, sugar, golden syrup mixture) into the dry mix, and then knead well. Add more flour if needed to achieve a less sticky dough.

  4. Roll out the dough with additional flour and cut out shapes using Christmas cutters.

  5. Place the cut shapes on a greased and lined baking tray, ensuring they are spaced out as they will spread during baking.

  6. Bake at 190°C fan for 10 minutes.
