Matcha Waffles


  • 1 1/2 cups oat flour
  • 1/2 cup almond flour
  • 1/4 cup garbanzo flour
  • 1/2 cup cornmeal
  • 1 T ground chia or flax seeds
  • 1 T baking powder
  • pinch sea salt
  • Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients, and add
  • 2 1/2 cups almond milk
  • 1 t almond extract
  • 3 T date paste or maple syrup


  1. Mix until well combined

  2. Take half of the batter and pour it into another bowl. Add 1-2 t food grade matcha (I used the organic @aiyamatcha powder) and stir well

  3. Following your waffle maker's direction, pour 1/4 cup regular batter on one side of the iron, followed by 1/4 cup of matcha batter on the other. Cook as crispy and delicious

  4. I love matcha, so I was excited when the folks a @aiyamatcha asked if I wanted to try their organic food grade matcha
