Spicy Steamed Vegan Dumplings
Ingredients
- 2 lbs bok choy, washed and julienned
- 1 package wonton or dumpling wrappers
- 1 box firm tofu, drained and mashed
- 1/4 cup sautéed mushrooms
- 1 tablespoon black bean sauce
- 1 tablespoon corn starch
- salt to taste
- oil
Spicy sauce
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons chili oil with chili crumbs
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon Chinese black vinegar
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 1 teaspoon sugar
Preparation
Whisk together soy sauce, chili oil, sesame oil, Chinese black vinegar, grated ginger, and sugar in a bowl until sugar dissolves
Mix bok choy, tofu, sautéed mushrooms, black bean sauce, corn starch, salt, and oil in a bowl to form the filling
Place a spoonful of filling in the center of each wonton wrapper and fold to seal
Steam the dumplings for 10 to 15 minutes until cooked through
Serve the dumplings hot with the spicy sauce
