Spicy Steamed Dumplings with Tofu
Ingredients
- 2 lbs bok choy, washed and julienned
- 1 package wonton or dumpling wrappers
- 1 box firm tofu, drained and mashed
- 1/4 cup sauteed mushrooms
- 1 tablespoon black bean sauce
- 1 tablespoon corn starch
- salt to taste
- oil
Spicy sauce
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons chili oil with chili crumbs
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon Chinese black vinegar
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 1 teaspoon sugar
Preparation
Saute the mushrooms until cooked.
Mix the mashed tofu, julienned bok choy, sauteed mushrooms, black bean sauce, corn starch, salt, and oil to form the filling.
Place a spoonful of filling in the center of each wonton wrapper, fold and seal the edges.
Steam the dumplings for about 10-15 minutes or until cooked through.
Whisk together the soy sauce, chili oil with chili crumbs, sesame oil, Chinese black vinegar, grated ginger, and sugar in a bowl until sugar dissolves.
Serve the steamed dumplings with the spicy sauce.
