Vegan Soy Köfte with Garlic Sauce
Ingredients
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- a bunch fresh parsley, finely chopped
- 150g soy chunks
- 1 3/4 cup (450ml) water
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 cup (135g) chickpea flour
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
Garlic sauce
- 1/2 cup (120g) vegan yogurt
- 1 tablespoon tahini
- juice of 1/2 lemon
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
Optional additions
- flatbread
- lettuce
- tomatoes
- chili sauce
Preparation
Cook the soy chunks in water with the spices for 10 minutes.
Mix with the remaining ingredients.
Let it sit for 10 minutes.
Shape into patties and fry until golden brown.
Garlic sauce
Mix all garlic sauce ingredients together.
Tips
Optionally serve with flatbread, lettuce, tomatoes, and chili sauce to make a sandwich.
Each serving provides approximately 300 calories, 27g protein, 20g carbs, and 8g fat.
