Homemade Focaccia Bread with Creative Toppings
Ingredients
- 1 pkg. active dry yeast (2 1/4 tsp.)
- 1 Tbls sugar
- 1 1/2 cups warm water
- 1/4 cup EVOO plus extra for drizzling
- 1 1/2 tsp. sea salt
- 3-4 cups of flour
Preparation
Sprinkle yeast and sugar over warm water and allow to sit until foamy, about 10 minutes.
Add the olive oil and 1 cup of flour and mix for about 1 minute.
Add another cup of flour and the sea salt and mix for another minute.
Add remaining flour a bit at a time, while still mixing, until dough starts to come together. You want sticky dough!
On parchment lined or oiled baking sheet or pan with oiled hands press out the dough into whatever shape you’d like, making sure to leave it about an inch thick.
Drizzle EVOO and add desired toppings.
Allow to rise for 30-60 minutes.
Bake at 425 for 25-30 minutes.
