Spicy Silken Tofu with Onion and Garlic

Ingredients

  • 1 block firm silken tofu
  • 1 small white onion
  • 2 scallions
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 1/2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp toasted sesame oil
  • 1 bird's eye chili

Preparation

  1. Carefully remove the silken tofu from its packaging and lightly pat to remove excess moisture then transfer to a plate.

  2. In a small pan heat up the toasted sesame oil then add the onion, scallions and garlic. Saute on medium low heat for 5 mins, until the onion is just lightly golden at the edges. Add the soy sauce and stir to combine.

  3. Lightly spoon the onion mix on top of the silken tofu then top with the bird's eye chili. Chill for at least an hour before enjoying.
