Simple Bisibelebath Rice with Vegetables
Ingredients
- 1 cup rice
- Toor dal
- Carrots
- Potatoes
- Drumstick
- Tomato
- Mango
- Green peas
- Capsicum
Tadka
- Cumin seeds
- Mustard seeds
- Peanuts
- Onions
- Green chillies
- Red chillies
- 2 tablespoons bisibelebath masala powder
Preparation
Soak 1 cup rice and toor dal for 30 minutes.
Roughly chop vegetables of choice, such as carrots, potatoes, drumstick, tomato, mango, green peas, and capsicum.
Boil the soaked rice and dal, and once boiling, add the vegetables, cover, and cook for at least 45 minutes or until mushy.
Prepare a tadka by heating oiland adding cumin seeds, mustard seeds, peanuts, onions, green chillies, red chillies, then add 2 tablespoons of bisibelebath masala powder.
Add the tadka to the boiled rice mixture and mix well.
