Extra Creamy Classic Hummus

Ingredients

  • 2 cans organic chickpeas (drain one can and reserve aquafaba from the second can)
  • 1 cup tahini
  • Juice of one large lemon
  • Aquafaba to adjust consistency
  • 3-4 garlic cloves
  • 1-2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper

Garnishes

  • chopped purple onions
  • roasted chickpeas
  • cherry tomatoes
  • parsley
  • lemon wedges
  • crushed red pepper

Preparation

  1. Drain one can of chickpeas and reserve the aquafaba from the second can.

  2. Blend all ingredients in a high-speed blender until smooth and creamy.

  3. Plate the hummus in a shallow bowl.

  4. Decorate with chopped purple onions, roasted chickpeas, cherry tomatoes, parsley, lemon wedges, and crushed red pepper.

  5. Serve with warm pita bread.
