Chocolate Crinkle Cookies with Powdered Sugar Coating
Ingredients
Chocolate dough
- 100g dark chocolate
- 100g butter
- 150g sugar
- 220g all-purpose flour
- 1.5 tsp baking powder
- a pinch of salt
- a pinch of cinnamon
- 1 tbsp cocoa powder
- 3 large eggs
For rolling
- 80g powdered sugar
Preparation
Melt dark chocolate and butter in a metal bowl over a hot water bath
Mix sugar, all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and cocoa powder, then add to the melted chocolate
Knead the eggs into the dough
Shape the dough into a log, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes
Preheat the oven to 180°C conventional (160°C fan)
Place powdered sugar in a bowl
Divide the dough log into about 40 equal pieces and shape each piece into a ball
Roll each chocolate dough ball generously in powdered sugar
Place the dough balls on a baking sheet with space between them and bake for 8-10 minutes
Let the cookies cool completely, then store airtight
