Chocolate Crinkle Cookies with Powdered Sugar Coating

Ingredients

Chocolate dough

  • 100g dark chocolate
  • 100g butter
  • 150g sugar
  • 220g all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 tsp baking powder
  • a pinch of salt
  • a pinch of cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 3 large eggs

For rolling

  • 80g powdered sugar

Preparation

  1. Melt dark chocolate and butter in a metal bowl over a hot water bath

  2. Mix sugar, all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and cocoa powder, then add to the melted chocolate

  3. Knead the eggs into the dough

  4. Shape the dough into a log, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes

  5. Preheat the oven to 180°C conventional (160°C fan)

  6. Place powdered sugar in a bowl

  7. Divide the dough log into about 40 equal pieces and shape each piece into a ball

  8. Roll each chocolate dough ball generously in powdered sugar

  9. Place the dough balls on a baking sheet with space between them and bake for 8-10 minutes

  10. Let the cookies cool completely, then store airtight
