Crunchy Cardamom Cake

Ingredients

  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cardamom
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger powder
  • 3/4 cup chilled butter, cut into pieces
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup sour cream

Garnish

  • powdered sugar

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C, prepare a 9-inch square pan, line with parchment paper and grease the paper.

  2. Sift the flour, baking powder, and salt, then add sugar, cardamom, and ginger.

  3. Place the flour mixture in a food processor and run for a few seconds to mix the ingredients.

  4. Add the butter and pulse until it resembles breadcrumbs.

  5. Take one cup of the breadcrumb mixture and set it aside.

  6. To the food processor, add milk, eggs, vanilla, and sour cream and blend until mixed.

  7. Pour the mixture into the pan.

  8. Sprinkle the crumbs over the cake surface.

  9. Bake for 40 minutes.

  10. Let it cool completely before cutting.

  11. Sprinkle the powdered sugar.
