Vanilla Chocolate Marble Cake
Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 1/3 cups sugar
- 2/3 cup butter, softened
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 large eggs
- 2/3 cup milk
- 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
Preparation
Preheat the oven to 180°C, prepare a 9-inch round cake pan, grease it with butter, line the bottom with parchment paper, and flour the sides.
On a piece of paper, sift the flour, salt, and baking powder, and set aside.
In the mixer bowl, place sugar and butter, attach the whisk attachment and beat for 3-4 minutes on medium speed until the mixture is light and fluffy.
Add an egg and beat until incorporated, repeat with all eggs and add vanilla.
Add the flour mixture alternately with milk in two or three additions, and beat for a minute.
Divide the batter into two parts, leave the first part plain, add cocoa powder to the second part and mix well.
Pour about a quarter cup of white mixture into the pan, spread it thinly with the back of a spoon, add about a cup of chocolate mixture and spread, repeat until all batter is used and do not stir the mixture after placing in the pan.
Bake in the oven for 45-55 minutes until done, remove from oven and let cool slightly, then remove from pan and let cool completely before serving.
