Cake with Orange Sauce
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon lemon zest
- 1 tablespoon orange zest
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup oil
- 1/2 cup yogurt
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
Orange sauce
- 1 cup fresh orange juice
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon starch
Garnish
- powdered sugar
Preparation
Set the middle rack in the oven and preheat to 170°C.
Prepare a glass English cake mold by greasing with butter and dusting with flour.
In a mixer bowl, place sugar, lemon zest, and orange zest, and rub with fingertips.
Add eggs and vanilla, and beat with a whisk until light and fluffy.
Add oil in a thin stream while continuing to beat.
Add yogurt and lemon juice, and beat to combine.
Add flour and mix with a wooden spoon or hand whisk.
Pour the batter into the mold.
Bake until the cake is done.
For the sauce, in a saucepan, place orange juice, sugar, and starch, stir to dissolve, heat on medium heat with continuous stirring until it boils, let it cool, and serve with the cake.
