Honey and Garlic Smashed Brussels Sprouts

Ingredients

  • Brussels sprouts
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 3 tablespoons agave syrup or honey
  • 1 tablespoon lemon or lime juice
  • salt and pepper

Preparation

  1. Boil the Brussels sprouts for 12 minutes until softened but not too soggy so they don’t break

  2. Strain the sprouts and cool them down with cold water to ensure their crispness

  3. Transfer the sprouts to a board and smash them with the bottom of a glass or jar

  4. Add them to a baking tray, spray with oil and season with salt and pepper

  5. Bake or air fry for 15-18 minutes at 180 degrees

  6. While they are roasting, create the marinade using agave syrup, lime juice and garlic

  7. After 15 minutes, add the marinade and cook for a further 5-10 minutes until golden
