Homemade Vegan Teriyaki Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup coconut aminos
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon minced ginger
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 3 tablespoons corn starch
  • 1/4 cup water

Preparation

  1. Whisk the ingredients in a sauce pot

  2. Heat until bubbling and thick, about 5 minutes

  3. Use immediately or store in the fridge

Tips

  1. Coconut aminos provide a similar flavor to soy sauce but with about a third of the sodium

  2. Soy sauce can be used instead, but it has higher sodium content

  3. This sauce is versatile and works well with grain bowls, rice noodles, or other dishes
